Take city kids wheeling
« on: June 25, 2009, 03:04:22 PM »
On Sunday July 12th we are looking for about 15-20 rigs (back seat is great but not necessary) to take a group of kids from a summer camp on a “green” tour of the park.  The loop will take about an hour or two and we would do this 4 times to take all 60 kids for a ride.

This ride will give kids (from the city) a chance to get out in the woods and let them see something that most of us take for granted.

No wheeling fees for the day, lunch will be provided and a day in the woods with some wide eyed kids who have never seen this sort of thing in person.

PM me your name and your number of seats (front or front and rear).

Thanks
Bruce

We did this a few year's ago with some boy scouts from the "city" and it was a BLAST ! It's definitely worth seeing their face when you do something stupid with the vehicle's.

Maybe I can still fit the rear seat in the Jeep if I removed the rear winch.

Alpha/Omega has wanted to do something like this for a long time.....but we're already busy that weekend. Is this something you're thinking of doing more often??? We'd totally want to help in the future. I hope you get enough people to do this. I will post up on our club's forum and hopefully someone will bite.

Count me in with 3 seats: front passenger and 2 in back.
(I'll put the back seat back in...sounds like you might need the space.)

So here is the update on the ride (as of Monday AM).  The kids are looking to arrive around 10am and we hope to depart by 11am.  It all depends on how many seats we have but we are looking at anywhere from two to four trips of  1 ˝  tour.  There are 60 kids (approximate) and each child will get the same amount of a trip.  These kids are staying at a summer camp and this will be 100% new experience so PLEASE nothing crazy or stupid while these kids are in the rigs.

NOW this is my disclaimer  :party-smiley-004:      I haven’t met the camp owner and have never worked with him so bare with me for this ride.  They don’t think they have a full grasp on what they are in for so we need to handle this with “kid gloves”.

Thanks for all of you who PMed and emailed me that you will be on site this Sunday.  I hope you guys will enjoy this as much as the kids.
