Yes, we are open for business as usual on Saturday, 9/12/09.
There is a rock race that day, but unlike the KOH event in May, the park is not closed. Only a small portion of the East property and the comp course will be used for the race loop. The race loop will be closed off to regular traffic.
If your vehicle is registered to go wheeling, and you stay in groups of at least 2, yes you can spectate from a couple vantage points by parking off the trail and hike-in a short distance (watch out for bees' nests! and don't block the trail). Registered wheelers will be given information about where those vantage points are when they check-in to go wheeling. You can also pay $10 to spectate and hike in to various vantage points on the race loop, or hang out in the comp course and pit area if you choose.
Camping is available in the normal area (by reservation as always). The pit area for the race teams will be behind the comp course.
We're hoping for a good turnout of both spectators and wheelers to come out this day. It's exciting to see two rigs get going off the line to hit the holeshot, or several vehicles at a time trying to run an obstacle that's usually run one at a time.
