Having a YJ, storing gear is a bit of a challenge, but anytime i am on the trail, I have my full recovery kit (Snatch block, snatch strap, tow strap, 4 shackles, tree saver, winch control, gloves, E-tool, and hatchet all in a military tool bag), a 200 Piece Husky ratchet set (have yet to find something i needed any other tool for, and if i do i replace it), a small tool kit that I keep in a .50 cal can (Screwdrivers, ratcheting wrenches, torx bits, Allen bits, and any other tool that i use more then once when i am wrenching off the trail), and depending on who I am with a full toolbox with all my bigger tools (hammers, full wrench set, pry bars, bolt cutters, cheater pipe, breaker bar, etc.). I store all of that tied down to the wheel wells in the back (No rear seat.) Then depending on where I am going and for how long, the center is reserved for camping gear/food/water/ beer/ etc. In the cab area I have a 2 D Cell LED mag lite, a fire extinguisher bolted to the floor in front of the shifter between the driver and passenger, my CB, and a 2 liter Camelback attached to the back of both the driver and passenger seat. I have yet to use most of the gear. The most important piece of gear I take with me is someone else in case something goes wrong, we have a way to get out, someone to save my bacon if I get hurt, and someone to laugh at when they get stuck. Its all about the little things.
