The March 6th trail cutting is being rescheduled to Saturday March 27th.  Hopefully that date works for everyone who was going to help out on the 6th.   It's just not going to be a productive use of time and energy dealing with the deep snow.

Here is the last update changing the date ....

Any clue when we might get this NE section open and ready to run with all of the trail building days pushed back due to snow?

We are still trying to hit the end of March or 1st weekend in April time frame. The next week or so should show how things will play out with the snow melt.  We can open the area up as it is but we still need to get some work done with signs and what not.

Hopefully this rain over the weekends kills enough snow to gets things moving in the right direction.

Sounds great Bruce, I know you'll have a bunch of eager people up there on the easter weekend, ready to run over there. I believe there is a  pretty large FJ meet that weekend, as well as a nice JK meet building itself up!

Signs are all made and ready to go.  Maps being printed.   The excitement is  :nailbite:

I fully expect Friday April 2nd will be the official grand opening of this area.

Yes, it is still on for March 27th.   Tommy, Dennis and I spent a good bit of the weekend putting up signs so everything's ready for Saturday.   Most of the trailwork involves trimming back overgrown trails.  The stuff that needs cut is small, an inch, sometimes two inches, in diamater.  Small chainsaws (12-14") will make quick work of it.   Brushcutters with steel blades will work too on the smaller stuff.

There's also some random trash in a few areas, so we'll have trash bags to hand out as well.

I am still planning on bringing a group up on the 28th for trail cutting too.  Should have at least 15-20 folks there, probably more...

My plans haven't changed either. I am still gonna be there too. Gonna stay Friday night at the campgrounds as well as Saturday night for some wheeling as well.
